Assistant Manager – Regulatory Reporting

Assistant Manager opportunity with a global bank. Lead APRA reporting, improve data governance and partner with local and regional stakeholders.

MARS Recruitment is partnering with a globally recognised international banking organisation to recruit an Assistant Manager - Regulatory Reporting & Data Governance.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing finance team within a leading international bank. Reporting to the Director, you'll play a key role in the preparation and oversight of regulatory reporting, financial control and data governance activities while partnering closely with Head Office, regional teams, auditors and regulators.

The role offers broad exposure across APRA reporting, financial reporting, data governance and finance transformation, making it ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their banking finance career.

The Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review and oversee the submission of APRA, ABS and RBA regulatory returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting deadlines.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, assess impacts on reporting requirements and implement changes to systems and processes where required.
  • Act as the key contact for regulatory reporting, liaising with regulators, auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare quarterly, half-yearly and annual Head Office reporting.
  • Perform month-end accounting activities including journals, reconciliations and intercompany reporting.
  • Maintain the integrity of financial data across reporting systems while supporting broader data governance initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate manual activities and strengthen financial controls.
  • Support finance projects, system enhancements and the ongoing development of reporting frameworks.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing finance function.

The Requirements:

  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Approximately 5+ years' experience in accounting, financial reporting or regulatory reporting, ideally within banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of APRA regulatory reporting requirements and Australian banking regulations.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience working with regulatory reporting systems and large financial datasets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across local and international teams.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and process optimisationn
Salary
AU$125000 - AU$145000 per annum + + Bonus
