The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established multinational organisation located in Melbourne's inner city suburbs, is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their collaborative payroll team on an initial 12-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with strong end-to-end payroll experience and proven exposure to Chris21 to join a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process end-to-end payroll accurately and in line with relevant legislation, awards, and company policies
Maintain employee payroll records, including new starters, terminations, pay adjustments, and leave management
Process payroll deductions including PAYG, superannuation, and salary packaging
Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end activities
Manage payroll queries from employees and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
Ensure compliance with Fair Work, taxation, and superannuation legislation
Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and data validation activities
Liaise with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and process improvement
Support continuous improvement initiatives within payroll operations
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a Payroll Officer position within a medium to large organisation
Proven end-to-end payroll processing experience
Essential experience using Chris21/iChris payroll system
Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
