Join a leading ASX listed organisation supporting large-scale, high-profile projects across a national portfolio. This is a commercially focused role where you'll partner with operations to drive performance, improve margins, and deliver meaningful financial insights.

The Role:

• Take ownership of the financial performance of multiple projects, including cost control, margin analysis, and profitability tracking
• Deliver accurate and timely month-end reporting, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Partner closely with Project Managers and operational teams to translate financial data into actionable insights
• Analyse key performance drivers (margins, overheads, cost structures) to support commercial decision-making and performance improvement
• Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring assumptions are robust and aligned to project realities
• Oversee project setup and financial structures (WBS, cost allocations), ensuring strong governance and accuracy
• Manage billing cycles, WIP, and cash collection, proactively identifying risks and driving resolution of aged balances
• Identify and implement process improvements, helping to streamline reporting and enhance data quality
• Mentor and support junior finance staff, contributing to a high-performing and collaborative team environment

About You:

• CA/CPA qualified (or near completion) with 5+ years' experience in a similar role in a large organisation
• Strong background in project / contract accounting (infrastructure, engineering or services industry)
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to partner with operational leaders and influence decision-making
• Demonstrated capability in managing and consolidating large volumes of data, with the ability to extract insights and build meaningful reports directly from source systems
• Ability to lead and develop teams, including Project Accountants and Finance Administration staff
• Commercial mindset with a strong understanding of project profitability, cost drivers, and performance levers
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Experience with SAP, Power BI and Advanced Excel is highly regarded
