MARS Recruitment is partnering with a well-established ASX-listed organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their Perth-based finance team.

This opportunity will suit an ambitious accounting professional currently working through their CA or CPA who is looking to build their technical skills and broaden their exposure in a supportive team environment.

Joining a collaborative finance team of four, you will work closely with experienced accountants and gain hands-on exposure across financial reporting, compliance and month-end processes. This is an excellent role for someone who is curious, eager to learn, and looking to develop their career in a structured finance environment.

About You

This role is ideal for someone part way through their CA or CPA studies who wants to continue learning and developing within a supportive finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and posting of month-end journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, provisions and intercompany entries
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Support fixed asset register management and depreciation calculations
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial reports
• Assist with cash flow reporting and periodic compliance reporting
• Provide support during half-year and year-end audit processes
• Assist with tax compliance activities, including FBT and income tax support
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes

You will bring:

• Progress toward CA or CPA qualification
• Experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
• Strong Excel and systems skills
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• A proactive mindset with curiosity and willingness to learn
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team
