MARS are partnering with a fast-growing SME financial services organisation that's seeking an experienced Finance Manager ready to step up into a Financial Controller role. This is a hands-on, operational role managing the full accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient finance operations across multiple regions.

The business is looking for a practical, detail-oriented finance professional who has experience in SME or mid-market F.S environments, where you take ownership of the full accounting process, rather than just a piece of a large corporate structure. You'll manage a small team, work with modern systems and automation, and directly influence the smooth running of the finance function as the organisation grows internationally.

The Opportunity:

As Financial Controller, you will play a key leadership role within the Finance team, with responsibilities including:

• Leading and developing the accounting team, ensuring strong financial governance
• Overseeing month-end close across multiple international entities
• Maintaining accurate accounting records including GL, P&L, and balance sheet
• Managing regulatory, bank, and third-party financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually)
• Contributing to group budgeting and financial planning
• Preparing and reviewing transfer pricing calculations and tax computations
• Coordinating annual audits and supporting global tax filings
• Improving internal controls, processes, and systems to support scale
• Supporting the organisation's ongoing global expansion into new markets

This role offers substantial exposure to international accounting, complex multi-entity structures, and regulatory compliance.

About You:

You will thrive in this role if you bring:

• CA/CPA qualified with ~10-15 years' hands-on accounting experience, ideally managing end-to-end finance functions
• Significant financial services experience is essential
• Experience in small-to-medium sized businesses, managing small teams and taking ownership of the full accounting function
• Strong technical accounting foundations, exceptional attention to detail, and analytical capability
• Statutory and regulatory reporting experience (including lodgements, audit preparation)
• Exposure to transfer pricing is highly advantageous
• Advanced Excel skills, ERP capabilities, and confidence working with data and automation
• Ability to multitask, prioritise, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
• Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
