Marketing Specialist

MSI Australia operates a network of 10 clinics, a national telemedicine service providing comprehensive termination of pregnancy, vasectomy services from 25 locations and national family planning support.

Position title: Marketing Specialist
Location: MSI Australia Richmond Support Office
Reports to: Director - Finance & Business
Duration: Permanent, Full Time


The role:
As a marketing Specialist, you will lead the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives that support MSI Australia's mission. This role focuses on driving brand awareness, optimising digital presence, engaging key audiences, and ensuring a cohesive, data-driven marketing approach. You will collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders and external agencies to maintain a strong, positive brand reputation while identifying new opportunities for growth and engagement. You will be responsible for the content and content management of MSI Australia's website and marketing materials, including the creation and coordination of marketing communication material.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement annual and monthly marketing plans aligned with MSI Australia's goals, identifying new opportunities and executing targeted campaigns across traditional and digital channels to maximize reach and ROI.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and brand storytelling across all marketing initiatives to strengthen brand presence and engagement
  • Set and track performance goals to enhance MSI Australia's website experience, driving SEO and SEM strategies across multiple platforms (Google, Bing, Apple) to improve visibility and audience engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure website content aligns with organizational priorities and goals.
  • Grow and engage target audiences through social media, distribution lists, and digital outreach strategies.
  • Strengthen partnerships with consumer advisors and other stakeholders to improve community engagement and brand connection.
  • Promote MSI Australia's mission and values while increasing Share of Voice in the sector.
  • Work closely with the Head of Communication, Web and Digital Content Manager, Operations team, Medical Director, Head of Psychosocial Health, and Finance & Corporate Services to ensure an integrated marketing approach.
  • Oversee external agencies to meet key performance indicators, benchmarks, and budgetary goals, while providing trusted marketing, brand, and communication support to internal teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or appropriate postgraduate qualification(s) in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or similar.
  • Significant experience of working across a busy, multi-disciplinary communications & marketing team.
  • Experience of working with and influencing senior stakeholders, including Managing Director and Executive Teams.
  • Proven experience in communications and marketing strategy planning and implementation (media, social media, stakeholder relations, traditional media)
  • Comprehensive experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Word Press and/or Mail Chimp.
  • Knowledge of and experience with search engine optimisation and Google Ads
  • A strong understanding of intersectionality, diversity and the impact of communication on staff, clients and communities.
  • Pro-choice and champion of women and pregnant people's rights and passionate about de-stigmatising abortion, sexual and reproductive health.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to work respectfully and responsibly across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Knowledge and or previous experience in the sexual and reproductive health service delivery, not-for-profit or charity sector.
