MARS Recruitment is partnering with a Tier 1 mining organisation to recruit an experienced Contracts Specialist to join their Sustaining Capital team. This is a 12-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension, supporting the delivery of complex sustaining capital projects.
Reporting to the Contracts Superintendent, this role will work closely with project delivery teams, providing high quality commercial and contractual advice.
You will play a key role across the full contract lifecycle, from sourcing strategy through to post-award contract management and claims resolution.
Provide commercial and contractual support to complex sustaining capital projects, partnering closely with delivery teams
Lead sourcing activities including strategy development, tendering and negotiation
Manage construction, supply and consultancy contracts from pre-award through post-award
Administer contracts, ensuring compliance, assessing claims and supporting dispute resolution
Build and maintain strong, values-based relationships with internal stakeholders and contracted supplier
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Demonstrated experience supporting construction projects, ideally within mining or construction environments
Tertiary qualification in Law, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline
Proven capability managing end-to-end procurement and contracting activities
Strong experience in tendering, commercial evaluation, contract drafting, and negotiation
Sound judgement and experience in claims management and achieving effective commercial outcomes
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
