MARS Recruitment is partnering with a high-growth, ASX-listed financial services organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant for their Sydney Finance team. A high-impact role within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment, ideal for an experienced accountant looking to take real ownership and partner closely with senior stakeholders.

This position will suit someone who enjoys operating at both a technical and commercial level, playing a key role in shaping reporting outputs, driving improvements, and supporting strategic business initiatives.

The Role:

• Lead the preparation of monthly management results, board packs and ad-hoc reporting.
• Provide variance analysis and cost centre reporting to support informed decision-making across the business.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in line with GAAP/IFRS and internal policies.
• Support strategic projects and commercial analysis for senior leadership.
• Partner with internal and external auditors to drive smooth, efficient audit outcomes.
• Drive finance process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.
• Support and mentor junior team members within the wider finance team.

The Requirements:

• CA/CPA qualified with 4+ years' experience in either Financial Services, or A Big 4 / Top-tier firm with a Financial Services portfolio.
• Strong background in financial and management reporting.
• Highly proficient in Excel and ERP environments.
• Proven experience driving process improvement and reporting efficiencies.
• Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate financial data into clear commercial insights.
• Confident, proactive, and comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders.
