MARS Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and growing business seeking a proactive and detail-driven Accounts Officer to join their collaborative finance team. This role offers excellent exposure across accounts payable, reconciliations, and general accounting support - perfect for someone who enjoys variety and ownership in their day-to-day work.

About the Role

As the Accounts Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting the finance function through accurate processing, reconciliations, and reporting. Working closely with the Finance Manager and broader accounting team, you'll ensure the smooth running of financial operations and contribute to ongoing process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full-function Accounts Payable - invoice processing, coding, and payment runs
• Accounts Receivable support including receipting and reconciliations
• Preparation of supplier and account reconciliations
• Assisting with month-end journals and reporting
• Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve queries
• Supporting cash flow forecasting and finance reporting
• General ledger maintenance and data integrity checks
• Providing back-up assistance to payroll when required

About You

You're an experienced Accounts Officer who enjoys being hands-on, organised, and part of a collaborative team. You take pride in accuracy, efficiency, and building strong working relationships across the business.

To succeed, you'll bring:

• 4+ years' experience in an Accounts Officer or Finance Officer position
• Exposure to both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Experience in the mining, resources or engineering industry highly regarded
• Proficiency in Pronto or other large ERP systems
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations
• Intermediate to advanced Excel and MS Office skills
• Strong communication, time management and attention to detail
