MARS are proudly partnering with a large and leading organisation with a strong reputation in the market. They're looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant on an initial contract basis until the end January 2026, which will be supporting the Financial Accounting team during a period of finance transformation.

This role will suit a technically strong accountant with a sharp eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and experience in large, complex environments. You'll partner closely with the Financial Accounting Manager, mentoring junior team members, reviewing their work, and driving process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyse financial results, ensuring accuracy and insightful commentary.
• Provide first-level review of financial accountants' work and support their development.
• Respond to ad-hoc queries from business units, including profit analysis under AASB standards.
• Assist with month-end processes - consolidating and analysing data in Technology One and TM1.
• Support finance transformation initiatives by questioning existing processes and identifying improvements.
• Participate in UAT testing for a new Technology One module, working with system accountants and consultants.

About You:

• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with minimum 5+ years' experience in financial accounting.
• Must have experience from a large and complex organisation, with Big 4 training highly regarded.
• Experience with TM1 essential is strongly preferred and Technology One is advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards.
• Strong analytical, review and stakeholder management skills.
• Curious, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Must be available at less than 2 weeks' notice.

To Note:

• Only candidates with experience from large companies will be considered for this role.
• Experience using TM1 is highly advantageous.
• Big 4/Mid-Tier background is beneficial but must have at least 1-2 years commercial experience after.
• Must be available at 2 weeks' notice period or less (the shorter the better).
