About the Role

The Senior Accounts Payable Officer will play a pivotal role in managing end-to-end accounts payable operations while driving process improvements and implementing best-practice procedures. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will suit a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a passion for efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement in financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Lead initiatives to improve and streamline AP processes, systems, and workflows.

  • Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures for accounts payable.

  • Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.

  • Oversee vendor management including onboarding, data integrity, and payment terms.

  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and other departments to enhance process alignment and efficiency.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs, accruals, and AP reporting.

  • Assist with month-end close activities and internal/external audits.

  • Mentor junior team members and support continuous learning within the finance team.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.

  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, systems enhancement, or automation within finance operations.

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred.
