The Senior Accounts Payable Officer will play a pivotal role in managing end-to-end accounts payable operations while driving process improvements and implementing best-practice procedures. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will suit a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a passion for efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement in financial processes.
Manage the full accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Lead initiatives to improve and streamline AP processes, systems, and workflows.
Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures for accounts payable.
Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
Oversee vendor management including onboarding, data integrity, and payment terms.
Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and other departments to enhance process alignment and efficiency.
Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs, accruals, and AP reporting.
Assist with month-end close activities and internal/external audits.
Mentor junior team members and support continuous learning within the finance team.
Minimum 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
Demonstrated experience in process improvement, systems enhancement, or automation within finance operations.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred.
