We are seeking a highly capable and detail-driven Project Controller to oversee the financial and cost management of a landmark construction project in WA. This role is central to ensuring financial discipline and operational efficiency across the development of this exciting project.
The position is permanent, with long-term opportunities beyond the initial 24-month project timeline with more large scale projects in the pipeline.
Responsibilities
Project Financial Oversight
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the full duration of the project.
Monitor and report on cash flow vs actuals, ensuring financial alignment with project milestones.
Prepare and present weekly cashflow reports and monthly Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports to senior stakeholders.
Cost Control & Analysis
Maintain robust cost control systems to track and manage project expenditures.
Review and validate contractor and supplier invoices, progress claims, and variations.
Conduct monthly cost reviews and provide insights to support financial decision-making.
Contractor & Vendor Management
Manage financial aspects of 12-15 subcontractor agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
Oversee vendor performance and payment schedules, maintaining strong relationships and accountability.
Support procurement activities with financial analysis and contract evaluation.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, and external contractors to ensure financial transparency.
Liaise with internal finance teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting across all phases of the project.
Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; CPA/CA preferred.
Minimum 5 years' experience in project control or cost management.
Proven experience managing budgets and financial reporting for large-scale construction projects.
Strong understanding of subcontractor agreements, cost codes, and financial systems.
