Work in a supportive team, assisting the Transport team for a successful FMCG company, 4 month contract role in Richmond, ASAP start, $85-90k + super

This is a four month contract role working as a Transport Planner for a successful and global FMCG organisation.

To ensure that all customer orders are dispatched to reach the customer on time and in good condition, meeting all HACCP and legislative requirements. This requires strong, positive relationships with all supply chain partners including carriers, warehouses, customers and suppliers (internal and external).

This role will be spending 90% of the day working in and around SAP…very limited areas but nonetheless you need to be comfortable with ERP systems and MS Office.

Duties include:-

  • Ensure that customer orders are efficiently planned for delivery at the customers required time and optimise for the lowest total cost while adhering to company Policy and Procedures.
  • Work with customer service priority deliveries and to “Keep our promises”
  • Liaise with transport providers to ensure all transport requirements are met and optimised.
  • Maintain accurate records of all movements and provide data for KPI measurement including service and cost performance.
  • Identify & resolve errors in SAP to ensure carrier payment transactions are correct and timely.
  • Identify root cause of accuracy issues and resolve these or escalate to their manager if appropriate.
  • Plan the delivery of product from factory to DC (finished goods) and raw materials from DC to factory to meet production requirements in conjunction with S&OP and Inventory planning.
  • Maintain open communication with all supply chain partners including Warehouse, Inventory, Customer Service and the Production Sites.
  • Ensure that communication paths are in place with all transport providers to ensure that changes to schedules are relayed to interested parties
  • Ensure that despatching and receiving DC’s are appropriately informed of any daily movements and any issues that may arise regarding the movement of product

Desirable skill set:-
