MARS are seeking an experienced experienced Logistics Superintendent to join their mining client's team immediately on an initial contract basis, with the opportunity for permanency for the right person.

About the Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for leading the logistics function, ensuring the safe, reliable and cost-effective movement of materials across domestic and international supply chains. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management and the ability to drive continuous improvement across complex logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead logistics operations across road, rail, port and international shipping activities.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies that support operational continuity and business objectives.
• Manage logistics service providers and key supplier relationships.
• Oversee freight performance, logistics costs, budgets and KPI reporting.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound material movements while minimising supply chain risk.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics networks and transport operations.
• Develop dashboards, supplier scorecards and logistics performance reporting.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing logistics team.

About You

To be successful, you will bring:

• Significant experience leading logistics, transport or supply chain operations within mining, resources or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of road, rail, port and international shipping operations.
• Experience managing freight agreements, logistics service providers and supplier performance.
• Demonstrated leadership capability with experience developing and mentoring teams.
• Commercially astute with strong budgeting, cost management and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to build relationships across operations, commercial teams and external stakeholders.
• A continuous improvement mindset with experience delivering operational efficiencies
