My client, a global fintech on an aggressive growth trajectory is looking to hire an SEO & Web Optimisation Specialist to join the local Australian office whilst having scope of the APAC strategy.

Role and responsibilities:

Website & Content (30%)
Liaise with the international digital and development teams, and APAC regional marketing teams to coordinate planning, development and deployment of new digital/online projects as required

  • Support the build of APAC campaigns and content by undertaking basic design work plus implementing HTML and CSS changes as required
  • Provide direction on best practice for digital content generation and landing page composition
  • Review the APAC websites (particularly paid traffic pages) for obvious usability issues and possible improvements in the interests of improving conversion
  • Offer insights and suggestions based on data, analytics and reporting to assist with content creation and website optimisation
  • Liaise with agencies and contractors to ensure development work is kept on track and on budget
  • Manage agency and other vendor partner relationships

SEO (50%)

  • Help drive all SEO activity to improve key metrics and deliver significant return on investment
  • Assist in the execution of link-building initiatives using a range of tactics including blogger outreach, infographics, PR, social media, the creation of surveys, whitepapers and broader creative campaigns
  • Leverage existing in-house content, creative and video assets to improve performance
  • Assist in the creation of new pages and content to improve overall brand visibility
  • Utilise a range of desktop and web-based tools to diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Maintain the domains backlink footprint and proactively taking steps to identify and prevent negative SEO and unnatural link signals
  • Monitor the domains visibility and performance against targets within analytics
  • Help with the regular reporting and presentation of SEO ROI and project achievements
  • Work with the Digital, Marketing and Web Development teams and regional offices to identify commercial SEO growth areas

Analytics and Reporting (10%)

  • Prepare reports to assess the effectiveness of digital activities and monitor website performance
  • Analyse and provide recommendations on creative, content, and further testing for channel optimisation

General (10%)

  • Responsibility for planning and budgetary control of SEO and content budgets
  • Provide ad hoc digital support, back up and assistance to other team members within the marketing division as necessary
  • Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the APAC region
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role


Skills and competencies

  • An analytical mind and strong problem solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Understanding of basic website UX and best practice principles
  • A self-starter with ability to drive projects with minimum supervision / management
  • Solid understanding of HTML and CSS, some JavaScript
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills – confident in talking to partners of different size and level
  • Strong technical skills – solid understanding of analytics and digital technologies
  • Excellent Excel skills – skilled at intermediate data manipulation (pivot tables, SUMIFs, AVERAGEIFs, INDEX MATCH)
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and oral
  • Ability to communicate throughout all levels of an organisation both technical and non-technical

Educational / Experience requirements

  • 2-3 years digital marketing experience
  • Experience of web analytics tools
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills to fulfil the requirement of compiling website and campaign performance reports
  • Understanding of statistical reporting and web analytics
