A company based in Sydney, seeking a motivated Senior Pricing Analyst to be a part of a close-knit team whilst mentoring junior members.


Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research into industry and market related events to ensure tender proposals are priced accurately meeting the organisations profitability targets
  • Work with and provide inputs to Finance, Actuarial Services, Product and Claims teams to support the effective management of the Group Insurance business
  • Reviewing the claims component of SPS250 reporting on a quarterly basis
  • Mentoring / coaching analysts within the team
  • Leading the development of internal reporting capabilities to facilitate regular loss ratio reviews in order to assist the business in deriving appropriate client engagement / business retention strategies
  • Performing group pricing and profit testing for new and existing industry fund business proposals
  • Draft up pricing reports, LPS320s, powerpoint slide packs for internal presentations and pricing signoffs
  • Develop, test, maintain and use pricing models for the purpose of performing pricing calculations
  • Review relevant documents in a timely manner, having regard to risks accepted and maintaining document quality
  • Assisting other teams and addressing any pricing and profitability queries/issues.
  • Reviewing the claims component of SPS250 reporting
  • Mentoring more junior members within the team.
  • Developing reporting tools to aid the business in its understanding of claims experience for key clients

Essential Requirements:

  • 3 + years’ experience working in Group Insurance pricing. Preferably experience with pricing large schemes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Microsoft Access and VBA experience is an advantage
  • Good technical skills (Access, Excel, some VBA) to be able to drive development and automation of reporting. Preferably strong skills in R, SQL and Power BI
  • Effective prioritisation of daily responsibilities
  • Ability to understand and then communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
