The opportunity

Due to continued and significant growth, our client wishes to appoint a Senior Governance Officer into their newly created in-house function. You will play a key strategic role responsible for delivering governance and compliance services for the business as well as supporting the efficient functioning and communication from the company board and committees.

You will also be responsible for:

  • ensuring compliance with the organisation’s governance framework and enhancing corporate governance policies and procedures;
  • establishing positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders of all levels;
  • proactively implement initiatives to drive efficiencies in the areas of board reporting, corporate records, and information flows;
  • manage and coordinate the statutory and regulatory records and obligations for various regulatory bodies;

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in law, commerce and/or business administration
  • Related post-graduate qualification
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar in-house role (ASX listed) and/or law firm
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of corporate governance principles and corporations act
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication, organisation, and influencing skills
  • Proven risk awareness, ensuring compliance to procedures and regulatory requirements to minimise risk
