MARS Recruitment is partnering with an established organisation in the insurance sector to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant for a 6-month contract, with the potential for a 6-month extension. In this role, you will support BAU financial operations while also driving process improvements and enhancing efficiency across the organization.

This position is perfect for a results-oriented professional with a strong technical accounting background, ideally gained from mid-tier or Big 4 accounting firms, who excels at optimising financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Support BAU (business-as-usual) end-to-end finance functions, including month-end close, management reporting, and financial analysis.
• Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and implement improvements to enhance accuracy, speed, and compliance.
• Assist in end-to-end process improvement projects, from ideation to implementation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess current processes, identify areas for enhancement, and drive change initiatives.
• Monitor project milestones, manage risks, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Lead projects to uplift financial reporting processes, generating efficiency and capacity within the current team.
• Work with internal non-finance stakeholders, including the IT team, to facilitate process changes.
• Prepare financial statements and regulatory returns as required.
• Foster a culture of process excellence and accountability across the finance department.

Criteria:

• 5+ years of experience in financial accounting.
• CA/CPA/ACCA qualified
• Extensive experience in finance management, with a proven track record of process improvement.
• Strong project management skills, particularly in leading process optimisation initiatives.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proven ability to drive change and manage resistance within an organization.
• Advanced proficiency in financial software and process automation tools.
