MARS Recruitment are seeking Registered Psychologists to join an educational team across multiple locations in South Australia.

This role involves implementing a service model that delivers integrated and targeted services to children and young people with additional needs.

As a Psychologist, you will be part of an interdisciplinary Student Support Services team addressing developmental, cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical challenges in children and young people, including those who are gifted. You will work closely with educational staff and parents to develop evidence-based interventions that are proactive, targeted, and intensive, adaptable for both learning and home environments. Your role will also include providing expert professional support and supervision to other psychologists, while maintaining your own professional caseload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify and analyze complex developmental, cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical difficulties, including giftedness.
  • Apply advanced professional knowledge to select and adapt evidence-based interventions in various contexts.
  • Develop and implement multi-level interventions in partnership with educational staff and parents.
  • Provide professional, direct, and consultative services across various settings.
  • Coordinate and manage complex cases requiring multiple services, ensuring integrated support.
  • Supervise provisional psychologists and support AHP2 psychologists, including formal supervision for those seeking endorsement.
  • Manage and prioritize personal workload to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
  • Continuously seek to improve work practices and services, monitoring access, outcomes, and community needs.
  • Gather client feedback and respond to complaints to inform systematic service improvements.
  • Contribute to research, service development, and innovative practices.
  • Collaborate with non-government and other government organizations to provide coordinated support.
  • Analyze local data to inform decision-making and service planning.
  • Promote culturally inclusive environments for improved outcomes for Aboriginal children and support Aboriginal colleagues.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by reporting incidents, hazards, and injuries.

Key Competencies

  • Registration with AHPRA as a General Psychologist
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in school or preschool settings.
  • Effective engagement with professionals to assess needs and implement strategies.

  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Strong collaborative skills with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • NPC, WWCC or willingness to obtain.
