What You'll Do

As a Registered Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a range of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Your work will involve:

  • Conducting assessments and developing treatment plans.
  • Providing case management and ongoing support to clients.
  • Collaborating with GPs and other specialists to enhance mental health outcomes.
  • Engaging with community groups and government agencies.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary care reviews and continuous quality improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and recommend evidence-based treatments.
  • Identify, diagnose, and treat various psychological and behavioral issues.
  • Maintain detailed client case notes and ensure compliance with legal and clinical standards.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic processes and monitor client progress.
  • Collaborate with regional psychiatrists, general practitioners, and other health professionals.
  • Attend professional development workshops and stay updated with the latest in mental health care.

The important stuff:

  • Post-graduate degree in Psychology.
  • Current AHPRA registration (general or specialist).
  • Minimum of five years post-registration experience - Ideal*
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Current Indemnity Insurance.
  • Compliance with security clearance requirements (National Police Check and Working with Children Check).
  • Unrestricted vehicle driver's license.
  • D+A Testing requirements.


  • Experience working in Aboriginal Health Services or related health/social service delivery.
