MARS Recruitment is partnering with a growing resources organisation seeking a motivated Procurement Officer to join their Perth-based team.

Working closely with both corporate and site-based stakeholders, you will play a key role in delivering sourcing initiatives, managing tender processes and driving commercial value across the business.

About the Role

This is a hands-on procurement role where you will take ownership of the end-to-end tendering and sourcing process across a broad range of categories.

You will work closely with operational teams to understand business requirements, engage suppliers, negotiate commercial outcomes and help strengthen procurement processes and supplier relationships.

The role offers excellent exposure across procurement, contracts and stakeholder management, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop into a more strategic procurement role in mining.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end RFx and tender processes across multiple spend categories
• Develop and maintain a preferred supplier network
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to achieve best-value outcomes
• Prepare tender documentation, scopes of work and evaluation criteria
• Conduct commercial evaluations and provide recommendations for contract awards
• Negotiate commercial terms and supplier agreements
• Build strong relationships with site, operational and corporate stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and systems
• Support supplier performance management and contract administration activities
• Assist with procurement planning and sourcing strategies
  
  
  
  

  About You

• Minimum 3 years' experience within purchasing or procurement
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• Experience supporting tendering, RFQs, supplier evaluations or contract management activities
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
• Qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce or a related discipline highly regarded
