About Our Client

Our client specialises in assisting individuals who have suffered from impaired or full sight loss. As a well known and highly sought after organisation to work for, this is a brand new role based in Parramatta.

We are looking for a dedicated Orientation and Mobility Specialist to join our team and play a vital role in empowering clients to reach their full potential.

What You'll Do:

  • Work collaboratively with clients to develop individualised O&M programs that address their specific needs and goals.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based O&M services that promote safe and independent travel.
  • Maintain strong relationships with referrers, professionals, and community groups to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in O&M practices.
  • Provide administrative support, including documentation, reporting, and maintaining accurate client records.

You'll Be Successful If You Have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Orientation and Mobility or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
  • A strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A "Working With Children Check" and/or "Working with Vulnerable People Check."
  • The physical capacity to meet the demands of the role.

We Also Value:

  • Experience delivering O&M vision rehabilitation programs.
  • Knowledge of NDIS and My Aged Care.
  • Experience with telepractice for capacity building.
  • Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist accreditation.
  • Current registration with the OMAA.
