Support Worker - Housing and Homelessness

💰 $40-$55 per hour + super DOE
📅 Temporary contract until 30 June 2026 - ASAP start

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join a community-based service supporting individuals with complex needs across housing and homelessness programs.

This is a client-facing role focused on recovery-oriented support, helping individuals build independence, improve wellbeing, and increase community participation.

The Role

You will work closely with a Team Lead and Support Coordinator to provide practical, person-centered support, including:

• Delivering activity-based and daily living supports in line with care plans
• Supporting clients to attend appointments and engage with services
• Assisting with housing, mental health and social wellbeing goals
• Maintaining client documentation and progress notes
• Managing a small caseload where required
• Working within a "no wrong door" approach to service delivery

About You

• Minimum of completion of or progress towards a relevant qualification (Certificate II/III in a community or human services field), and/or relevant work experience
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with individuals with diverse and complex needs
• Demonstrated resilience, emotional maturity and positive role modelling
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and client management systems)
• Understanding of diversity and social inclusion, including Aboriginal culture
• Experience working within Aboriginal communities
• Experience working with homelessness and housing within the community

This role would suit someone currently completing a Social Work degree and awaiting AASW registration who is keen to gain valuable frontline experience in a supportive community setting.
