Mars Recruitment is partnering with a leading global financial institution to find an experienced Credit Risk Specialist. This role offers the opportunity to join a high-performing team responsible for managing a diversified portfolio of corporate and financial institution counterparties. The position will focus on credit analysis, portfolio management, and the assessment of complex structured transactions across a broad product suite.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of loan and derivative exposures, including both investment grade and sub-investment grade corporates.
Assess and recommend credit proposals, negotiate transaction documentation and support structuring to mitigate risk.
Oversee approximately 30-40 credit groups, ensuring portfolio quality and adherence to risk parameters.
Conduct due diligence, monitor counterparties and markets, and implement de-risking strategies where required.
Represent the credit risk function in internal meetings, committees and discussions with stakeholders.
Collaborate with control and infrastructure teams to maintain robust risk processes.
Contribute to process and efficiency improvements within the credit risk function.
Key Requirements:
Ideally 5 - 7 years' experience in credit risk, ideally within an investment banking environment.
Strong knowledge of loan documentation, ISDA and risk mitigation techniques.
Experience in leveraged or structured transactions; exposure to commercial real estate and distressed borrowers advantageous.
Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proven ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Undergraduate degree essential.
