Market leading financial services institution is going through a structural change due to business growth, and as such, seeking to recruit a corporate accountant to join their finance team. Expertise in this field in not a pre-requisite (although preferred) as they will also train qualified accountants seeking to make a move from a chartered or Big 4 professional services environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate and timely month end ledger close for their corporate entity and some of their additional assets – property, retail, trusts
  • Prepare and post monthly recurring and ad-hoc journals
  • Prepare consolidation entries for assigned groups & handling consolidation issues that arise
  • Funding/cashflow management
  • Provide accounting implications and advice to asset managers
  • Understand and provide explanation of monthly balance sheet and P&L movements
  • Explain actual and budget differentials for monthly management reporting
  • Frequent liaising with various internal teams, asset managers and external outsource providers (both domestic and offshore)
  • Prepare BAS and Tax Return submissions
  • Monthly tax reporting completion
  • Prepare capital gains calculations and maintaining depreciation schedules
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements
  • Preparation of audit files and dealing with auditors with regards to audit queries
  • Support the business in making appropriate assumptions for input into the budget model
  • Provide insightful analysis of results on a monthly basis
  • Proactively be involved in developing and maintaining the reporting system, managing and developing changes and enhancements as required

  • Solid technical accounting background
  • Effective communication skills across stakeholders at all levels
  • Results orientated
  • Degree qualified supplemented by CA or CPA qualifications (1 year PQE min)
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Proven abilities in taking the initiative to do ad hoc project work during down times
  • Financial services experience preferred
