MARS Recruitment is partnering with a growing organisation in the resources sector to appoint a Commercial Manager into a newly created role following a recent acquisition and expansion of operations.

This is a standout opportunity for a commercial professional looking to step into a growth role and play a key part in shaping and maturing a corporate commercial function.

Reporting into the senior leadership team, this position offers a balance of hands-on delivery and strategic uplift, with a strong focus on procurement, supply chain optimisation, contract management and risk mitigation.

The Role

You will be responsible for improving commercial performance across procurement and supply chain activities, while also contributing to the development of frameworks, governance and best practice processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading strategic sourcing activities and contract management across key categories

• Supporting operational teams to ensure continuity of supply, cost control and procurement discipline

• Strengthening supplier relationships and driving performance, value and risk mitigation

• Providing commercial insights, reporting and analysis to senior leadership

• Contributing to the development of commercial governance, processes and operating models

• Identifying and delivering improvement initiatives across procurement, inventory and supply chain

• Supporting broader commercial activities including tenders, pricing and business case development

About You

• Proven experience in commercial, procurement or supply chain roles within mining, resources or heavy industry

• Strong capability across strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier engagement

• Experience contributing to or leading process improvement or transformation initiatives

• Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Able to operate both strategically and hands-on in a growing environment

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across operations and corporate functions
