Clinical Psychologist – Private Hospital

Opportunity for two experienced Clinical Psychologist to join a 90-bed sub-acute private hospital in Kingswood – FTE or 1 day per week.

MARS Healthcare is currently seeking a permanent full time & part time Clinical Psychologist for a newly established private hospital in Kingswood, NSW.

Full time - 5 days per week

Part time - 1x day per week - Thursday

Our client has recently opened its doors and is a brand-new state of the art hospital, the mental division are looking for experienced Clinical Psychologists to join their growing team!

This hospital is a 90-bed sub-acute private hospital located in a world-class medical hub in Western Sydney.

They offer specialist services in rehabilitation, medical, geriatrics, palliative care, mental health and wellness therapies within a purpose-built, boutique hotel-style setting.

The mental health department pride themselves on offering a passionate and person-centered service to patients and assist them navigate their rehabilitation and recovery.

The role:

  • Assess patients through clinical observations and standardised assessments in a private hospital environment.
  • Interpreting findings to create individually tailored treatment plans and overall assist each participant achieve their goals.
  • Provide therapeutic mental health interventions that are evidence-based.
  • Experience working on Acute Medical, Rehabilitation or Palliative Care inpatient wards is desirable.
  • Experience working with clients who present with Orthopaedic, Neurological, Cardiac or multiple Health Co-morbidities is preferential.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in a wide range of psychological assessments and evidence based psychological treatments delivered on in a 1:1 and group setting.
  • Sound clinical skills and previous mental health hospital experience - highly desirable!
  • AHPRA registration as a Clinical Psychologist - (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD) that provides eligibility for full membership of the APS and ACPA.
  • Experience facilitating DBT and PTSD groups (desirable)
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and capacity to communicate with patients of varied demographics.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and independently.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
