Our client is an established multi-disciplinary practice offering therapy services for children located in North West Sydney. They currently have an open position for a Clinic Manager/OT to join their fun dynamic team.
They focus on offering a play-based and relationship-based approach to children and their families, incorporating the DIR/Floortime model and Sensory Processing theory.
About the role:
To provide support to the Managing Directors in achieving the objectives of the business through
- Overseeing and supervising activities and therapeutic staff
- Developing and maintaining policies, procedures and practices in conjunction with the MD’s to grow a ‘best practice’ service in assisting children to reach their full potential
- Application of knowledge, skills and expertise for the development of effective programs to meet required outcomes Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the role:
- Collaborating with the Practice Manager on matters impacting service delivery, timelines and quality
- Client assignment to therapeutic staff
- Resolution of practice/client issues in conjunction with the Practice Manager
- Monitor and maintain school contracts
- Grow and maintain relationships with existing and new clients
- Undertake therapy services within a Client Case Management framework
- Supervising and directing the work of therapeutic staff including caseloads
- Ensuring therapeutic staff adhere to guidelines and standards
- Treatment plans are developed, reviewed, and maintained by therapeutic staff
- Review, develop and/or modify work plans, methods and procedures including caseloads
- Manage transition of service termination between therapist and client
- Identify need for improvements and equipment requirements and convey through appropriate channels
Requirements for the role:
- 4-year Undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a health care setting
- Professional registrations with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Professional membership with Occupational Therapy Australia
- Eligibility to provide services under Medicare, private health insurers and government funding sources
- Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid Certificate Skills
- Understanding of theories and models appropriate to practice of occupational therapy in paediatrics including the DIR/ Floor time model and Sensory Processing Theory Attributes Work both autonomously and within a team
