An exciting opportunity has become available with our client as an Assistant Financial Accountant. The Assistant Accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for monthly reporting including P&L statements, KPI reporting, and analysis of key drivers of performance.

Responsibilities in this role include:

• Monthly financial close process and that it is completed in a timely and accurate manner
• Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
• Daily bank reconciliations and allocation of transactions
• Monthly credit card reconciliations
• Manage the payruns on a periodic and adhoc basis when needed
• Calculate the periodic ATO related lodgements (BAS, FBT, PAYG etc)
• Working on the ABS submissions
• Managing and maintaining the fixed asset register and producing value adding analysis and reports on a monthly basis
• Prepare and review reports which include P&L statements, monthly business reviews, KPI reports, gross margin analysis, and balance sheet and working capital analysis reporting

The ideal person for this role will have:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounting role delivering month-end and related reporting
• Tertiary Accounting degree
• Working towards CA/CPA (preferred)
• Advance skills in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to perform in high pressured environment
• Ability to evaluate and prioritise conflicting tasks and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A professional who thrives working in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Team player able to work effectively as part of a team
