MARS are proudly partnering with a large global general insurance company, based in the CBD. They’re looking to hire an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their growing team. This position gives the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of responsibilities in a progressive and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Carrying out bank reconciliations across allocated accounts
• Assist in preparing monthly accounting packs to head office
• Managing the fixed asset register including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation and reconciliations
• Indirect tax management including GST, monthly stamp duty, BAS, quarterly PAYG income
• Processing and recording re-insurance, quarterly claims and commission payments
• Recharging monthly management fees and allocating expenses to the relevant department

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Accounting/Finance and studying towards CA or CPA
• At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar function, ideally in the Insurance space (desirable)
• Experience with Good’s and Service Tax (GST) and Business Activity Statements (BAS) is required
• Confident in Excel and other ERP systems
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
