New Graduate Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Paediatric

MARS Recruitment is seeking a passionate New Graduate Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join a well-established practice in Bella Vista, NSW!

Join one of Sydney’s longest standing Paediatric Occupational Therapy clinics, providing care to the NSW for over 23 years.

As a full-time New Graduate Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will manage a diverse caseload which will include young children with delays or disabilities, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and children with trauma related difficulties.

The role:

This organisation focuses on offering a developmental, play-based and relationship-based approach to therapy for children and their families, while always supporting families to develop functional goals.

You will commence with a small weekly caseload and build your caseload slowly over 4-6 months.

During this time, you’ll get to observe lots of sessions each week and engage in training. This allows you time to grow and learn the role and become confident in your therapy!

You will provide innovative therapy services by utilising the latest in advanced therapeutic techniques and equipment to help improve the health and well-being of children and families. These include:

  • DIR/ Floortime techniques.
  • State of the art treatment facilities for sensory motor-based therapies.
  • Sound therapies including Therapeutic Listening, Quickshifts and the Forbrain.
  • Interactive Metronome

About you:

  • You will have the ability to effectively manage caseload that includes young children with delays or disabilities, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and children with trauma related difficulties.
  • You will have the ability to offer high quality therapy services and develop and implement effective therapy programs to assist your clients in working toward their individual goals.
  • Assess, review and report on Home Modifications both simple and complex and liaise with families and carers on implementing plans to optimise health!
  • Provide a range of individual and group-based interventions both in clinic and in the community, schools and educational facilities.
  • Have the ability to contribute to a holistic and engaging rehabilitation program for each child and their family within the context of an interdisciplinary team model of care.
  • Be genuine and committed to supporting children acheive significant milestones!

What’s required:

  • Registration with APHRA.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy.
  • Previous experience working with children in placement is desired but not essential.
  • WWCC & NSW Police Clearance – Or willingness to obtain
  • COVID 19 Vaccine + Booster
  • Influenza Vaccine 2022
